Antimicrobial

Treated with Si Bac-Pure® to fight against bacteria, fungus and mould for up to 100 washes. This effectively aids in the prevention of textile contamination and unpleasant smells when in use. While this will not kill viruses, it will help prevent other microbial growth.

The active ingredient in the treatment is Benzalkonium Chloride, which is an organic salt. This substance is safe for humans, not harmful to the environment and has been in pharmaceutical use for decades. Some common products that use this substance include:

  • Surgical disinfection
  • Skin antiseptics
  • Hand sanitisers

The treatment does not rely on microcapsules, which are less durable, to cling to the fabric. Instead it uses a matrix of silica particles which fix it in place. This results in a much longer lasting effect and more wash cycles (up to 100 at 30°C) before it becomes less effective.

Si Bac-Pure® has been dermatologically tested to kill 99% of bacteria. It is BPR (Biocidal Products Regulations) approved and is Oeko-Tex Standard 100compliant. This means that it is completely free from harmful chemicals.

100% MicroFresh Polyester

Made from seamless and elastic microfibre, which offers Ultraviolet Protection Factor 50+. The MicroFresh system helps promote thermoregulation, which can keep you cool in Summer and warmer in Winter.

Water Resistant

As a result of the treatment process the fabric is water resistant. This helps reduce fluid transfer through the microfibre.

Please note that this is not the same as being waterproof.

Washable & Reusable

For the best performance wash at 30°C, by hand if possible.

Then iron dry without steam, while using a cloth to separate the face mask from the iron. You can also tumble dry if you are unable to iron the face mask. This is recommended to be done at a low RPM, about 400, and at about 90°C for 10-15 minutes. The application of heat to the product helps reactivate the water resistant treatment.
